Senior Counsel - Remote

Overview

The Senior Counsel at GoodLeap will provide direct legal support to mortgage and HELOC products, working closely with outside counsel and in-house legal teams to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

• Manage legal and regulatory issues related to mortgage and HELOC financial products.
• Provide legal advice on debt collection, privacy, and consumer credit compliance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exercise sound judgment and make well-reasoned recommendations.
• Prefer candidates with experience in mortgage/HELOC products and related legal issues.
• Be a legal business partner to internal clients.
• Self-starter with good business sense.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of legal experience.
• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Experience advising mortgage lenders or fintechs.
• Ability to manage a heavy workload.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Team player and calm under pressure.
• Self-confident and inspires confidence.
• Preferred experience in litigation and consumer complaints.
