Overview

Walrus Foundation's mission is to advance adoption of the Walrus decentralized storage and retrieval platform. Walrus Foundation is looking for its first legal hire to help build the company and advance the protocol ground up.

In Short

• Provide end-to-end legal support to the Walrus Foundation.
• Serve as a thought partner on legal, compliance, regulatory, and policy matters.
• Draft terms of use, policies, and disclosures.
• Oversee corporate governance and partnerships.
• Manage board-related matters and entity formation.
• Draft and review third-party agreements.
• Manage employee token grant program with HR.
• Stay updated on industry regulations affecting crypto and blockchain.
• Cultivate industry relationships and represent the brand.
• Manage outside counsel.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in law firms and in-house legal departments.
• Ability to manage complex work with urgency.
• Enthusiasm for blockchain technology.
• Expertise with Layer 1 and content moderation.
• Experience advising senior executives.
• Self-starter with a sense of urgency.
• Integrity and excellent business judgment.
• Great communicator providing clear advice.
• Solutions-oriented with strong business sensibilities.
• J.D. from an accredited law school, licensed in CA or NY.
