Overview

The Head of Legal will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the organization. This role requires extensive legal expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and support the achievement of business objectives.

In Short

Develop and implement the organization's legal strategy aligned with its overall goals and objectives.
Identify legal risks and opportunities and devise strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
Provide legal guidance to senior management on key legal issues affecting the business.
Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts and agreements.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Manage and oversee all litigation matters involving the organization.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and best practices.
Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities.
Provide legal advice and support in crisis management situations.
Support senior management in fulfilling their fiduciary duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from a good law school.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience practicing law, with 4+ years in a Legal role with B2B SaaS organization.
Proven track record of successfully managing legal matters and providing strategic legal advice.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Should have startup experience.
Should have worked in a US based organization.
Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
To Excel at leadership while also getting hands-on.
The ability to handle significant and complex legal matters with short turnaround times.
