Senior Counsel - EMEA - Remote

Overview

As Vanta’s Senior Counsel, EMEA, you’ll be the first legal hire in EMEA to help build out Vanta’s legal function in Europe, managing legal requirements as the company expands into the region.

In Short

• Negotiate customer and partner deals in collaboration with the global sales organization.
• Negotiate vendor contracts to protect Vanta and its customers.
• Manage escalations and develop solutions for closing deals.
• Advise on employment issues and HR policies.
• Provide guidance on compensation-related matters.
• Ensure contracts mitigate risk and achieve company objectives.
• Stay updated on legal changes impacting the business.
• Build relationships based on trust with external parties.
• Demonstrate a collaborative approach in a fast-paced environment.
• Address ad-hoc legal issues as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with a JD degree and SaaS agreements.
• Direct experience with strategic business agreements and compliance.
• Experience in commercial contract negotiation.
• Knowledge of employment law for multinational employers.
• Strong negotiating skills for legal and financial issues.
• Excellent understanding of contract and corporate law.
• Willingness to support teammates across time zones.
• Ability to create proactive legal strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
