Overview

The Athletic is seeking an experienced Sales Director to help expand its Advertising business to be an industry leader. You will be a key member of our growing Brand Partnerships sales team responsible for driving ad revenue via client direct and agency relationships within the technology space.

In Short

  • Drive ad revenue through client direct and agency relationships.
  • Own the end-to-end sales process for new sourcing.
  • Develop and partner with new ad partners.
  • Get brands in front of The Athletic’s audience across all platforms.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing ad partners.
  • Support ongoing business and drive renewals.
  • Work remotely for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Meet with ad agencies and clients in the technology space.
  • Be part of a global team of more than 600 creators.
  • Contribute to a multi-faceted audience craving immersive storytelling.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales, particularly in advertising.
  • Strong understanding of brand partnerships.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Experience in the technology sector is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet sales targets and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with digital media platforms.
