Overview

The Director of Compensation & Benefits is a key leader within the People Operations division, responsible for building and overseeing the company’s total rewards strategy during a period of significant organizational change.

In Short

  • Lead PEO transition for payroll, benefits, and filings.
  • Design and maintain competitive compensation structures.
  • Own end-to-end payroll operations ensuring compliance.
  • Evaluate and manage benefits brokers and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in People Operations.
  • Build and mentor a Compensation & Benefits team.
  • Develop and implement scalable compensation programs.
  • Lead market benchmarking for compensation decisions.
  • Manage audit readiness and documentation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in compensation, benefits, or payroll roles.
  • Experience overseeing PEO transitions.
  • Strong understanding of multi-state compensation laws.
  • Expertise with compensation benchmarking tools.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Leadership experience in a high-growth organization.
  • Certifications such as CCP, CBP, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems integration.
  • Demonstrated success in building a function or team.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
