Overview

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) role is vital in all of our territory selling markets. As the ASM leader for our Public Sector, SLED vertical, you will lead a 5-8 person, dynamic sales team, supporting existing and new clients while helping GitLab to surpass our growth goals.

In Short

  • Manage software sales, bookings, and revenue of a sales team.
  • Analyze market dynamics to maximize existing successes and create new sales growth opportunities.
  • Prepare forecasts, territory/industry management, and growth plans.
  • Educate team on industry factors including competitive products, regulations, trends, and customer needs.
  • Establish and report on metrics to measure team performance.
  • Ensure that the sales plan aligns with corporate revenue goals.
  • Recruit and hire top talent for your team.
  • Invest time to build and engage a pipeline of top talent.
  • Manage a team of 5-8 Strategic Account Leaders.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years in management with a record in Public Sector Sales Management.
  • Experience managing teams and selling software/SaaS solutions.
  • Proven track record of performance in sales.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation systems.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Strong presentation and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to use GitLab.
  • Willingness to travel if needed.
