Development Manager, Western Region - Remote

Overview

The Development Manager will manage activities surrounding the procurement, management, and oversight of both external and internal resources required to develop utility-scale wind, solar, and storage energy projects in the Western region of the United States.

In Short

• Manage and lead the development process of utility-scale wind, solar and/or storage energy projects.
• Represent Apex with federal, state and local officials, regulators, utilities, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee state, federal, and local permitting efforts for utility-scale electric generation projects.
• Interpret technical engineering and environmental reports to determine project impact.
• Manage project financial models, design, and interconnection activities.
• Lead landowner lease negotiations and relationships.
• Compile and analyze data for project stakeholders.
• Support the negotiation of power purchase and asset agreements.
• Travel to project site locations and attend stakeholder meetings.
• Collaborate with internal teams at every stage of project development.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a development-related field.
• 3+ years of project development experience, preferably in renewable energy.
• Solid track record in project management and contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of commercial solar and energy storage markets.
• Experience with permitting processes in the Western region preferred.
• Articulate with the ability to lead presentations.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Willing to travel 40% to the Western region of the United States.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willing to live and work in the Western region of the United States.
