Overview

Apex Clean Energy is seeking an Estimator to support the cost estimating efforts for our utility-scale renewable energy projects—including wind, solar, and energy storage. The Estimator will play a key role in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates that help inform project planning, budgeting, and execution.

In Short

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for renewable energy projects.
• Review RFPs, project plans, and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and finance teams.
• Solicit and analyze quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
• Maintain unit pricing databases and cost libraries.
• Support bid packages and proposal pricing.
• Stay current on market trends and vendor pricing.
• Contribute to post-project reviews for estimating accuracy.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities.
• Maintain organized documentation of estimates.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in construction estimating.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive and flexible approach.
• A passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
• This position is based full-time at Apex Plaza in Charlottesville, VA.
