Remote Technical Consultant

Overview

SmartWorks is seeking a talented and motivated Technical Consultant who can balance their business knowledge, technical skills and strong interpersonal skills.

In Short

• Interact with customers, development teams, and third-party vendors.
• Gather and document requirements.
• Deploy applications and provide implementation support.
• Travel throughout North America approximately 30% of the time.
• Work remotely from home or Harris offices when not traveling.
• Design and implement SmartWorks solutions.
• Integrate SmartWork’s application suite with third-party software.
• Lead or assist in training sessions with customers.
• Provide consulting services based on Smart Metering infrastructure.
• Regularly update the Project Manager on progress and issues.

Requirements

• Experience in technical fields like Electric or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Strong grasp of SQL and Enterprise Database Software.
• Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in software implementation.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design (C/C++ or Java).
• Previous experience in the Utilities industry.
• Ability to travel in North America up to 30% of the time.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
