Director, Commercial Legal - Remote

We're seeking a talented and seasoned commercial contract lawyer with extensive experience in sales, partnership, and procurement transactions in HR Tech and/or SaaS—as well as leading and guiding a team of up-and-coming commercial lawyers. You should be passionate about our team's mission, which is: to deliver pragmatic and innovative legal solutions for Remote's products and stakeholders while protecting Remote from unacceptable risk.

In Short

• Serve as the directly responsible individual (DRI) for Commercial Legal.
• Lead the team to provide excellent legal support for sales, partnership, and vendor contract reviews.
• Empower GTM teams to close enterprise-level customers.
• Provide strategic support to Partnership teams on deal negotiations.
• Collaborate with revenue operations and legal operations teams to automate workflows.
• Manage external local counsel as needed.
• Mentor and nurture a team of commercial lawyers.
• Build strategic relationships with GTM stakeholders.
• Identify company-wide legal issues and implement solutions.
• Institute best practices and lead training for the Legal Team.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in your location.
• Excellent commercial contracts lawyer with in-house experience.
• Passionate about working for a tech scale-up, specifically in HR-tech.
• Outstanding team leader who motivates and brings people together.
• Excellent ability to build relationships in a remote environment.
• Excited about using AI and automation.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Remote's tech stack.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Remote work experience is a plus.
