Director, Commercial Legal - Remote

Overview

As the Director, Commercial Legal at Seismic, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and guiding the company’s growth within the global SaaS industry. You will be a trusted legal partner to the sales, security, finance, and go-to-market (GTM) teams, offering proactive, business-minded legal counsel that aligns with our strategic goals and ensures compliance with evolving regulations. Your expertise in commercial contracting, data privacy, and emerging technologies will be key to developing scalable legal processes that support our expanding global presence.

You will be responsible for managing the drafting, negotiation, and maintenance of complex commercial agreements, with a particular focus on data processing, vendor, partnership, and sales contracts. Additionally, you will drive initiatives to scale the commercial legal function, fostering a high-performing team and collaborating across departments to ensure alignment with the company’s vision.

Requirements

• JD, with admission to at least one bar.
• 8+ years of substantive legal experience, with at least 3 years in SaaS contracting.
• Experience in selling SaaS to large enterprise customers.
• Demonstrated expertise in commercial contracting and data privacy law.
• Strong project management skills and a collaborative approach.
• A deep understanding of the SaaS industry and the global regulatory landscape.
• Proven experience scaling a global legal function.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
