Director - Commercial Legal - Remote

Overview

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global HR-tech space. We're seeking a talented and seasoned commercial contract lawyer with extensive experience in sales, partnership, and procurement transactions in HR Tech and/or SaaS—as well as leading and guiding a team of up-and-coming commercial lawyers.

In Short

• Director-level role managing a team of 3-5 commercial lawyers.
• Lead the team to provide legal support for sales, partnership, and vendor contracts.
• Empower teams to close enterprise-level customers with upgraded commercial terms.
• Provide strategic support on deal negotiations and bespoke terms drafting.
• Collaborate with operations teams to automate workflows using AI.
• Ensure legal soundness of business models and manage contractual agreements.
• Mentor and motivate team members to enhance performance.
• Identify and resolve company-wide legal issues.
• Manage external local counsel as needed.
• Assist with regulatory and compliance work as required.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in your location (mandatory).
• Extensive experience as a commercial contracts lawyer.
• Previous in-house experience in similar roles.
• Passionate about HR-tech and tech scale-ups.
• Outstanding team leader with excellent relationship-building skills.
• Excited about using AI for efficiency.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and switch between projects on short notice.
• Proficiency in tech stack including Slack, Coupa, Notion, Google Drive.
• Fluent in English.
• Remote work experience is a plus.
