Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer at Forma, you will take on a role that blends high-level strategic responsibilities with hands-on technical tasks, influencing your engineering team by making key architectural decisions and setting technical standards that align with business goals.

In Short

• Provide technical leadership to improve engineering quality and processes.
• Ensure compliant and resilient banking and money movement.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams on strategic product decisions.
• Mentor Engineering team members to promote technical excellence.
• Release new product features and maintain existing services.
• Build secure and performant backend APIs and database designs.
• Deep understanding of product values to enhance user experience.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend software development experience.
• Experience in building scalable systems in money movement/payment processing.
• Familiarity with NodeJS/Typescript and building APIs.
• Knowledge of NoSQL and/or relational databases.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript or similar languages.
• Experience with agile methodologies and leading projects end-to-end.
• Experience at an early-stage startup is a plus.
• Fintech experience is a plus.
