Director of Development - Remote

Overview

The Director of Development is a key contributor on Code.org’s Revenue and Development team, responsible for stewarding and growing our largest existing donor relationships across individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.

In Short

• Manage a portfolio of high-value donors.
• Develop and execute renewal and upsell strategies.
• Mentor a team of fundraisers.
• Collaborate with internal teams for donor engagement.
• Monitor portfolio health using Salesforce.
• Represent Code.org at donor meetings and events.
• Ensure operational excellence in the renewal process.
• Contribute to long-term fundraising strategy.
• Work with executive leadership on donor engagement.
• Travel for team events.

Requirements

• 8+ years in fundraising or enterprise sales.
• Experience with high-value donor relationships.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of donor stewardship best practices.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRMs.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Mission-driven and curious mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Willingness to travel.
