Overview

The Director of Development will be a strategic thought-partner, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who will develop ACMGF’s culture of philanthropy across staff and volunteer leadership. This role will be responsible for growing sustainable revenue by creating a strong stewardship process that engages the Board and executive team in cultivating significant partnerships.

In Short

  • Collaborate with the CEO to create a strategy for annual individual donors.
  • Design and drive strategies for annual giving programs.
  • Direct and execute a major gifts program.
  • Develop a corporate giving strategy to engage corporations.
  • Manage the implementation of association management systems.
  • Lead partnerships with the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Monitor fundraising results and report to the CEO and Board.
  • Develop a comprehensive development-focused communications strategy.
  • Manage donor communications for strategic fundraising opportunities.
  • Empower team members to participate in fundraising goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Minimum of ten years of frontline fundraising experience.
  • Background in medical, science, or genetics field desired.
  • Significant record of fundraising achievement.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Effective critical and strategic thinker.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Sound grant writing experience.
  • Competence in budget planning and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
