Director of Development - Remote

Overview

The Director of Development at Silicon Valley Community Foundation is responsible for leading and executing fundraising strategies to support the foundation's mission.

• Full-time position based in Mountain View, California.
• Focus on engaging ultra-high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Develop and operationalize outreach strategies and engagement models.
• Manage a portfolio of prospective donors and develop fundraising strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams for comprehensive donor engagement.
• Lead complex gift transactions and manage donor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with legal and tax requirements related to charitable giving.
• Track funds raised towards organizational initiatives and campaign goals.
• Provide excellent customer service to all prospect inquiries.
• Work in a hybrid remote/office environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
• CFRE certification preferred.
• Proven track record in securing significant gifts.
• Strong knowledge of philanthropic vehicles and compliance requirements.
• Experience in business development and wealth management.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
• Strong software skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other platforms.
• Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines.
