Director, Actuarial Services - Remote

Overview

The Director, Actuarial Services will apply a rigorous analytical approach to value-based care contracts, specifically focused on evaluating and managing and forecasting risk within Aledade’s Medicare Advantage, Commercial and Medicaid contracts. This role will develop actuarial models to evaluate potential financial impacts under a wide range of performance scenarios.

• Develop and maintain an actuarial/economic framework for evaluating risk in value-based care contracts.
• Identify risks that exceed specific thresholds and develop mitigation recommendations.
• Interface cross-functionally with other teams to fulfill analytical requirements.
• Support the Chief Actuary in developing actuarial frameworks.
• Work with internal Finance and Performance teams.
• Analyze performance scenarios for financial impacts.
• Communicate actuarial concepts to non-actuarial audiences.
• Lead and execute complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Engage in DE&I efforts and culture initiatives.
• Manage a team in a fast-changing operational environment.

Requirements

• 12+ years in healthcare with health plans or consulting firms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Sciences, or related field.
• Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong data manipulation skills, especially with Excel and SQL.
• Basic knowledge of Python or R.
• Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of healthcare utilization and risk adjustment methods.
• Ability to lead complex projects.
• Experience in healthcare startups preferred.
