Regulatory Compliance Specialist - Renewable Natural Gas - Remote

Overview

This position is responsible for supporting WMRE’s Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Regulatory Compliance department to ensure that all regulatory obligations are met, and certifications are maintained. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with multiple departments across WM to ensure all relevant data and input is provided in a timely fashion, this will include data from WM landfills, WMRE RNG facilities and WM dispensing stations. There will often be competing priorities and effective task management is an important skill; attention to detail and a willingness to learn the industry are also essential traits.

In Short

• Coordinate with landfills for biogas token creation.
• Support EPA registration of landfills for RNG developments.
• Quality control and submit data to the EPA and voluntary markets.
• Assist in RIN splitting process at CNG/LNG stations.
• Stay updated on RNG regulations and markets.
• Connect stakeholders in compliance discussions.
• Extract data from operational and financial databases.
• Support Quality Assurance Program activities.
• Assist with LCFS Verification and Validation.
• Update registrations for RFS, LCFS, and other programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience with RNG or related fields.
• Regulatory experience in the energy industry preferred.
• Familiarity with EPA and Renewable Fuel Standard.
• Understanding of RNG processes and programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
