Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing, servicing, and growing a sales territory through an outside sales approach, focusing on targeted brokers to optimize growth potential and achieve production goals.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to brokers and policyholders.
  • Assist with sales pipeline development and identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and business centers on product decisions.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and brokers.
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans for the territory.
  • Train broker offices on products and technology solutions.
  • Stay current on market trends and insurance products.
  • Travel required: Approximately 70%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant business experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance sales.
  • Knowledge of insurance operations preferred.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence brokers.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • CIP or other insurance designations are an asset.
