Overview

The Workers' Compensation Legal Assistant will perform a variety of legal assistant and administrative duties for assigned attorneys, requiring knowledge of legal concepts and processes in a collaborative environment.

In Short

  • Compose legal documentation including pleadings and correspondence.
  • Review incoming mail and manage attorney calendars.
  • Maintain case file information in the case management system.
  • Coordinate appearances and depositions with experts and witnesses.
  • Assist with trial preparation and record billable time.
  • Perform general office support tasks as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with court personnel and clients.
  • Adapt to new situations and manage multiple tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of office files and records.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree or relevant experience preferred.
  • 1+ years experience as a legal assistant preferred.
  • Experience in insurance defense litigation preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of trial procedures and legal terminology.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
