Financial Inclusion Technical Lead Consultant - Remote

Overview

The Financial Inclusion Technical Lead Consultant will provide technical support and guidance for the Scaling Climate-Smart Agribusiness Finance program in DRC, focusing on increasing access to finance for climate-smart agribusinesses.

In Short

• Lead the validation and development of a market study for agribusiness financing.
• Provide technical assistance to the Start-up Team Lead.
• Engage with financial institutions to create partnerships.
• Identify financing needs of agribusinesses.
• Conduct primary research through interviews and focus groups.
• Deliver a market study report and recommendations on partnerships.
• Support the hiring and onboarding of program staff.
• Ensure alignment with program objectives and stakeholder collaboration.
• Develop an implementation plan and budget for the program.
• Complete all activities by March 31, 2026.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in agricultural finance and value chains.
• Experience working with financial institutions and investors.
• Knowledge of blended finance mechanisms.
• Experience in conducting market studies in sub-Saharan Africa.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Experience in managing programs for organizations like Mercy Corps.
• Familiarity with major institutional donors.
• Ability to conduct independent research and analysis.
• Strong consultancy experience in related fields.
