Overview

Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a Director of Sales to lead revenue growth, market expansion, and product adoption across the Americas region (U.S. and Canada). This role is responsible for scaling the business, delivering agile, high-quality solutions, and establishing long-term client partnerships.

In Short

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team to exceed revenue targets and drive regional growth.
  • Own and execute territory-level strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with stakeholders in biomanufacturing, R&D, and diagnostics across the region.
  • Navigate complex commercial agreements, including Material Supply Agreements, IP licensing, and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain deep market knowledge of mRNA, enzymes, vaccines, cell and gene therapy, and gene editing through active participation in industry events.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and pipeline management using Salesforce and other tools to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Champion the Voice of Customer (VOC) to inform marketing strategies, product development, and sales enablement initiatives.
  • Represent the company at conferences and symposia, delivering compelling presentations to expand brand and product awareness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or related field with a minimum of 10 years commercial experience in life sciences, biotechnology, or related sectors. Advanced degree or business credentials with 8 years, experience in therapeutic startups preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in sales leadership, business development, and strategic growth. Global leadership preferred.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets, driving market expansion, and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology applications, biologics manufacturing, and cGMP principles.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation, strategic partnerships, and navigating complex commercial agreements, including IP licensing and supply contracts.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, MS Office, with strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and strategic thinking abilities, with a collaborative and customer-focused mindset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% for customer engagements, conferences, and team development.
