Director of Accounting - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking accounting leader to join Lyric’s finance team as our first Director of Accounting, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. You’ll be responsible for building and leading the accounting function that underpins our global growth, spanning multiple entities and jurisdictions.

In Short

• Lead all accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, AP/AR, payroll, and expense management.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 340-40, stock-based compensation, deferred revenue, and other SaaS-related standards.
• Oversee multi-entity consolidations and global accounting operations across the US, India, and other jurisdictions.
• Design and implement internal controls and policies to maintain audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Manage tax filings, audits, and statutory compliance worldwide.
• Work closely with the Head of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and supporting fundraising.
• Manage current operations in QBO while preparing for migration to an AI-native ERP.
• Evaluate, implement, and optimize finance systems and AI-driven tools to streamline processes.

Requirements

• CPA strongly preferred, with 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and internal control frameworks.
• Experience in SaaS, technology-enabled services, or subscription-based revenue models.
• Proven track record leading full-cycle audits and managing compliance.
• Strong ERP experience, with the ability to lead system implementations.
• A hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments.
