Director of Accounting - Remote

Overview

The Director of Accounting at Cyngn will oversee the monthly close activities, prepare and file external financial reporting documents, and manage accounting for equity-based transactions.

In Short

• Lead general accounting processes including month-end and year-end activities.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and budget analyses.
• Ensure compliance with tax and external reporting requirements.
• Coordinate SEC filings such as Form 10-Q and Form 10-K.
• Manage equity-based transaction recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors.
• Monitor accounting guidelines from regulatory agencies.
• Implement accounting and finance policies and internal controls.
• Lead the finance team and perform ad hoc analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 8 to 12 years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of SEC reporting experience.
• Experience in both private industry and public accounting is preferred.
• Advanced technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience with SOX-compliant policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with accounting systems like Shareworks and Quickbooks.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
