Director of Accounting - Remote

Overview

The Director of Accounting is responsible for the core operational accounting functions of the corporate accounting team, driving accounting for revenue, accounts receivable, and ensuring the accuracy of the corporate P&L.

• Hands-on management of accounting close process for a 6-day close.
• Directs full cycle accounting for trade accounts receivable and revenue accounting.
• Reviews and approves journal entries and account reconciliations for SOX compliance.
• Oversees journal entries, eliminations, and multi-company consolidations.
• Maintains relationships with process leads and accounting teams.
• Responsible for accounting integration activities for acquisitions.
• Collaborates with FP&A teams for accurate forecasting.
• Supports transformation and automation of accounting processes.
• Implements process changes for month-end close related to M&A and new standards.
• Mentors team members and fosters an openness to transformation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of accounting experience.
• 5+ years of leadership and team organization skills.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• Strong communication and detail-oriented skills.
• Advanced technical knowledge of accounting practices.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex environment.
• Experience with change management in large companies preferred.
• Big-4 audit or accounting advisory experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP and process implementations preferred.
• Strong project and resource management skills.
