Legal Counsel - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a sharp, business-minded legal partner to join Lyric as our first Legal Counsel, responsible for building and leading Lyric’s legal function from the ground up, focusing on supporting our global enterprise growth.

In Short

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements with Fortune 500 companies.
• Work closely with Sales to structure and close deals.
• Advise on data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance issues.
• Develop playbooks, templates, and scalable processes for the legal function.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product, and HR on vendor contracts and IP protection.
• Provide guidance on corporate governance and internal policies.
• Partner with outside counsel on specialized legal matters.

Requirements

• JD degree and an active license to practice law in the US.
• 6+ years of legal experience, preferably in SaaS/enterprise software.
• Success in negotiating high-value commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of SaaS, AI/ML, and data privacy regulations.
• Excellent communication skills for translating legal concepts into business advice.
• Ability to handle diverse legal matters independently.
