HR Generalist - Remote

Overview

The HR Generalist will support the Head of HR and be responsible for a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, HR compliance, employee relations, and general HR administration.

• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including job postings, resume screening, and candidate engagement.
• Coordinate onboarding for new hires and facilitate orientation.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian employment laws and company policies.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies and benefits.
• Process payroll changes and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
• Support benefits administration and employee enrollment.
• Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data protection compliance.
• Conduct periodic audits of HR processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Provide guidance to managers on handling workplace concerns.
• Engage with external recruiters and manage vendor relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–5 years of HR experience, ideally as a generalist.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws.
• Experience with recruitment and HRIS systems (Ashby and Rippling).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Ashby, and Rippling.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Quick learner who is proactive and detail-oriented.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
• Cross-border and remote team experience is a nice-to-have.
