Overview

As an HR Generalist at Butter Payments, you will play a key role in supporting HR operations and fostering a people-first culture in a fast-growing, remote-first environment.

In Short

Support HR operations, compliance, onboarding, and performance management.
Manage and optimize Rippling as the HRIS.
Assist with job descriptions, offers, and candidate experience.
Lead engagement and culture initiatives across time zones.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and benefits regulations.
Help scale the company from ~50 to 150 employees.
Work autonomously with strong ownership.
Foster a people-centric environment.
Communicate clearly and be detail-oriented.
Support a distributed U.S. workforce.

Requirements

4+ years of hands-on HR/People experience.
Experience in a startup or tech environment.
Prior experience with Rippling HRIS (must-have).
Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
Experience supporting a distributed workforce.
Ability to work as a “team of one”.
Strong ownership and autonomy.
Detail-oriented and people-centric mindset.
Clear communication skills.
Experience with performance cycles and career frameworks.
