Global Category Leader - Remote

Overview

The Global Category Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing global sourcing strategies for assigned categories and suppliers, ensuring excellent purchasing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

In Short

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories and suppliers
• Understand manufacturing processes for assigned categories
• Lead negotiations to achieve quality and cost savings goals
• Manage supplier relationships and development
• Control CAPEX for assigned categories
• Drive sourcing initiatives including cost reduction and quality improvements
• Negotiate long-term agreements with suppliers
• Support project leaders in New Product Introduction
• Facilitate collaboration between supply base and business
• Develop recovery plans for underperforming suppliers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations or Engineering
• 5+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain or operations
• Proven experience in project management and strategy development
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Knowledge of reciprocating engines (preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Oracle ERP experience preferred
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Customer service mindset
• Entrepreneurial and motivated mindset
• Willingness to travel at least 20% of the time
