• This is a remote position and we're considering candidates in the US or Canada (EST working hours preferred).
• We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Grafana Backend team.
• Responsible for managing a team of distributed engineers working across a variety of systems.
• Focus on creating a thriving environment for engineers and removing blockers.
• Engage in technical conversations and help teams make strong technical decisions.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure the product roadmap is defined and up-to-date.
• Encourage quality above speed of delivery while maintaining a short feedback cycle.

• Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team.
• Support the delivery of an exceptional Grafana core platform.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background, preferably with experience in Go.
• Ability to manage relationships and keep up-to-date with technical trends.
• Experience in project management and setting milestones.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Comfortable working with autonomous engineering teams.
• Experience in open source projects is a plus.
• Ability to mentor and coach team members.
• Strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• Experience in working with diverse teams and fostering inclusivity.
