Senior Director of Public Policy - Remote

Overview

The Senior Director of Public Policy is responsible for creating and maintaining GitLab’s public policy engagement strategy; facilitating relationships across various governing bodies, authorities, commissions and councils, the purpose of which is to represent and further GitLab interests.

In Short

• Develop GitLab’s public policy program and approach to engagement with US and European lawmakers.
• Advise senior leaders on emerging technology policy implications.
• Collaborate with teams to influence regulatory proposals on key topics.
• Lead analysis of proposed legislative actions and develop responses.

Requirements

• Minimum 12+ years of public policy and/or government affairs experience.
• Proven experience with direct lobbying and policy campaigns.
• Strong familiarity with technology public policy trends.
• Ability to articulate complex regulatory matters clearly.
• Adept at building coalitions and strategic relationships.
• Understanding of U.S. and EU legislative processes.
• Ownership mindset of relevant subject matter expertise.
• Strong relationship-building skills across functions.
