This is an exciting opportunity to join Avantor as the Sr. Counsel in Germany or the UK and be at the forefront of our new function in Europe, providing strategic legal counsel on regulatory compliance and trade regulations.

• Navigate complex EU regulatory frameworks.
• Required 10+ years of legal experience in highly regulated industries.
• In-depth knowledge of EU regulations like CLP, REACH, and GMP.
• Engage with regulatory authorities and draft regulatory responses.
• Develop compliance strategies for EU regulatory requirements.
• Conduct training sessions on regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Law degree (LLM or equivalent) and registered attorney in a European jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm or multinational corporation.
• 5-7 years specializing in European regulatory law.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in English and at least one other European language preferred.
• Experience in cross-functional team collaboration.
• Ability to influence policy development.
• Experience in risk management related to regulatory compliance.
• Ability to conduct compliance audits and investigations.
