Overview

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for cultivating and expanding complex external relationships to drive business growth within the portfolio. This role involves managing risks and customer-impacting issues while serving as the lead representative for Discover.

In Short

  • Manage and build relationships with strategic network participants.
  • Perform market analysis to maintain knowledge of industry trends.
  • Identify new business opportunities within accounts.
  • Advise network participants on new product and operational initiatives.
  • Create strategic account plans to identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure internal functions support the account objectives.
  • Document and report on performance and status of opportunities.
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues for network participants.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements.
  • Provide insights into internal products and marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the Payment Industry.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Experience building influential relationships with stakeholders.
