Senior Counsel, Commercial Technology - Remote

The legal team at Cohere is dynamic, fast-paced and cross-functional, supporting all areas of the organization by providing timely, professional and actionable legal advice and support.

In Short

• Lead and support Cohere with all commercial technology matters.
• Draft, negotiate and review complex commercial arrangements.
• Provide mentorship and support to other members of the legal team.
• Engage with enterprise clients, partners, advisors and vendors on legal matters.
• Build out legal strategy and refine processes related to commercial contracting.
• Implement best practices for legal contracting and contract lifecycle management.
• Provide legal guidance on commercial risks and opportunities.
• Optimize contracting processes to drive growth and reduce friction.
• Oversee and manage legal contracting, company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7+ years in private practice or in-house with a focus on enterprise contracting.
• Experience negotiating contracts with AI or ML issues.
• Experience with cross-border transactions.
• Familiarity with legislation impacting AI/ML systems.
• Extensive experience leading legal negotiations on complex commercial arrangements.
• Ability to operate independently and mentor lawyers.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Passion for technology law focusing on AI and ML.
