Backend Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are looking for talented and dedicated Backend Engineer to help us build out a world beating feature set. Joining our engineering team you’ll be responsible for developing new features and services to help us continue to deliver a great product to our customers that helps our company and their money grow.

In Short

• Work with a team to deliver new API capabilities for Chips customers.
• Develop new microservices deployed across our AWS estate.
• Participate in show & tell sessions to enhance company-wide understanding of engineering.
• Experience in PHP and willingness to learn GO.
• Familiarity with PHP frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
• Knowledge of design patterns and databases.
• Local development with Docker.
• Understanding of microservice architecture.
• Empathy and interpersonal skills are valued.
• Flexible working hours with an early finish on Fridays.

Requirements

• Experience in PHP and interest to learn GO.
• Familiarity with Laravel or Symfony frameworks.
• Understanding of design patterns.
• Knowledge of mutable vs immutable databases.
• Experience with data structures and performance audits.
• Local development with Docker.
• Strong understanding of branching strategies.
• Experience in developing microservices.
• Interest in the fintech space.
• Ability to work collaboratively and with a positive attitude.
