Backend QA Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a very talented and dedicated Backend QA Engineer to help us build out a world-beating feature set. Joining our engineering team, you’ll be responsible for testing new front-end, rest-api backend features and microservices manually; as required and identified at the planning sessions to help us continue to deliver a great product to our customers which helps our company and their money grow.

• Defining and executing test strategies, creating detailed test cases, and documenting results.

• Driving test automation using an OOP-based framework.
• Exploring performance testing strategies to ensure system efficiency.
• Owning test estimation & reporting, tracking progress, and escalating issues.
• Enhancing CI/CD visibility by integrating automated tests into CI tooling (GitLab).
• Managing defects proactively and working closely with developers.
• Executing detailed exploratory and functional manual testing.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in backend QA testing.
• Proven experience in testing and automating APIs and integrations.
• Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining quality.
• Deep understanding of testing methodologies and defect management.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues efficiently.
• Basic knowledge or experience in performance testing.
• Experience in testing mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
