QA Engineer (Backend) - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of our core backend services and APIs. You will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust automated API and integration tests using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, primarily Vitest or Jest, with potential for Playwright in specific scenarios. You will also conduct necessary manual validation to guarantee the integrity and functionality of our backend systems.

In Short

• Design, create, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for APIs and backend systems.
• Perform thorough manual API testing, including functional, exploratory, and integration testing.
• Develop and maintain high-quality automated API and integration test suites.
• Utilize Playwright for automated end-to-end API testing scenarios.
• Validate data persistence and ensure data integrity by writing and executing database queries in Postgres.
• Perform fundamental API performance checks and basic security validations.
• Accurately identify, document, and track software defects.
• Collaborate closely with backend developers to integrate quality assurance practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software Quality Assurance focused on backend and API testing.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in building and maintaining API test automation suites.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript-based testing frameworks, particularly Vitest or Jest.
• Solid understanding of GraphQL APIs and their testing methodologies.
• Experience writing and executing database queries in Postgres.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.
