Overview

The Patient Financial Services Representative – Hospital Billing is responsible for billing and collections of hospital outstanding balances within a multi-facility healthcare system.

• Utilizes Epic Hospital Billing System for account management.
• Handles billing, follow-up, and denial activities for claims.
• Contacts insurance carriers for payment confirmations.
• Reviews accounts for proper billing and payment application.
• Documents actions taken within the Epic account notes.
• Completes training for the Hospital Billing system.
• Identifies and resolves claims issues.
• Handles paper claims processing.
• Communicates problems to management promptly.
• Ensures timely filing and reimbursement of claims.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• At least two years of AR/Billing experience.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.
• Professional telephone and email etiquette.
• Ability to work independently.
• Experience in Revenue Cycle Billing preferred.
• Experience with EPIC is a plus.
