Senior Laboratory Engineer/Technician - Remote

Overview

WSP is seeking a Senior Laboratory Engineer/Technician to lead laboratory activities, ensure safety compliance, and mentor junior staff while contributing to project success.

In Short

• Spend 70%-100% of time in the laboratory.
• Supervise junior laboratory staff.
• Identify safety hazards and report incidents.
• Conduct advanced laboratory testing and sample preparation.
• Prepare and review laboratory test certificates.
• Utilize laboratory test software and data recording applications.
• Contribute to laboratory reports and procedures.
• Maintain equipment checks, maintenance, and calibration.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
• Train and mentor staff to build technical capabilities.

Requirements

• Advanced Diploma for Laboratory Techniques with 10+ years experience.
• Completed SANS 17025 training.
• Preferably a degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Driver's license (unrestricted, preferably manual).
• Relevant SHEQ training including First Aid.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
