Overview

The Employment Case Counsellor will deliver in-person and remote case management, employment counselling, and job development activities to prepare clients for employment opportunities, working within the Community Programs Unit of the Workforce Development Team.

In Short

  • Perform case management duties including assessment, goal setting, and action plans.
  • Administer various assessments to help clients explore training and employment options.
  • Collaborate with training facilitators to support client participation in training programs.
  • Facilitate information sessions and workshops.
  • Support clients in using online platforms for job opportunities.
  • Conduct outreach activities to attract and screen clients.
  • Locate job opportunities for clients.
  • Assist participants with life situation management and referrals.
  • Maintain detailed notes of client interactions and manage data in online records.
  • Ensure anti-racism objectives and community development principles are achieved.

Requirements

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Social Services or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in employment related services.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong digital literacy skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
