Overview

As the General Manager of Payments, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the payments experience for our nonprofit customers while driving payments revenue for Virtuous. Your primary objective will be to increase the attach rate of our online donation software while optimizing payments volume and profitability.

In Short

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive payments strategy.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage agreements with payment providers.
  • Analyze payment data and trends for improvement opportunities.
  • Work closely with nonprofit customers to understand their needs.
  • Build internal skills within sales and marketing functions.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for payment initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor offerings.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, and customer success teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of online payment processing.
  • Experience negotiating agreements with payment providers.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams.
