Backend Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Backend Engineer at Vida, you will help build and maintain the services that power Vida’s internal and external applications, primarily using Django, REST APIs, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Kubernetes.

• Build, document, and maintain APIs for web, mobile, and internal tools.
• Design and optimize backend systems on Kubernetes and GCP.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement scalable services.
• Develop database models supporting core features.

• Use AI-assisted tools for development and debugging.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in backend software development.
• Bachelor's Degree at a minimum.
• Strong foundation in Python and Django.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Understanding of REST API design and data modeling.
• Familiarity with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Curiosity about cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Interest in AI tools that enhance productivity.
• Clear communication and collaborative mindset.
