In Short

• Lead major database infrastructure efforts including version upgrades and designing replication strategies.
• Modernize the application stack by identifying outdated dependencies and executing upgrades.
• Design and evolve CI/CD and QA pipelines to improve deployment safety and system observability.
• Contribute directly to production code, particularly in Python.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical standards across teams.
• Work closely with engineering leadership for scalable solutions.
• Drive improvements in test reliability and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with product teams for required code changes.
• Help set best practices for deployment and testing.
• Be a go-to resource for high-impact refactors and initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with production applications.
• Deep familiarity with PostgreSQL and managed database systems.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Pragmatic about tooling, automation, and systems trade-offs.
• Bonus: Experience with Django, Redis, and sharding/replication patterns.
• Clear communicator and technical leader.
