Overview

Trupanion is seeking a Canadian lawyer to join their team as a Corporate Counsel, focusing on corporate and commercial law, as well as regulatory compliance within the financial services industry.

In Short

• Provide legal services to meet commercial and strategic needs.
• Advise on legal risks and governance issues.
• Manage corporate governance for Canadian operations.
• Draft and review insurance-related contracts.
• Assist with regulatory compliance matters.
• Develop legal and compliance training.
• Maintain policies and standards.
• Identify new legislation and propose solutions.
• Support stakeholders with practical legal advice.
• Participate in vendor management and compliance projects.

Requirements

• 3 - 6 years of legal experience in corporate/commercial and regulatory compliance.
• LLB or JD from an accredited university.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Experience at a top-tier law firm.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and provide customer service.
• Certification in data privacy (preferred).
• Experience with commercial and technology contracts (preferred).
• Expertise in marketing and advertising laws (preferred).
• Bilingual in French is an asset.
