Eastern Long Island Chapter Manager - Remote

Overview

The Surfrider Foundation is seeking a Chapter Manager for the Eastern Long Island Chapter to enhance organizational capacity and membership through volunteer engagement and community outreach.

In Short

• Full-time position (40 hours/week) with hybrid/remote options.
• Responsible for chapter governance and oversight.
• Facilitates volunteer management and recruitment.
• Assists with event planning and fundraising.
• Works with Executive Committee for budget management.
• Identifies and leads advocacy efforts.
• Incorporates justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
• Maintains communications with members and volunteers.
• Coordinates beach cleanup programs.
• Reports to the Mid Atlantic Regional Manager.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of staff management experience.
• Experience in advocacy and environmental justice.
• Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Budget management and administrative experience.
• Event coordination and management experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners.
• Must reside on Eastern Long Island.
• Flexible schedule for events and meetings.
• Ability to manage beach cleanup supplies.
• Social media experience is a plus.
