Southeast Regional Manager - Remote

Overview

The Southeast Regional Manager will cultivate, steward, and increase the organizational capacity of the Southeast region’s chapters through oversight of operations, direct action organizing training, and strategic outreach on environmental campaigns.

• Support grassroots organizing efforts in the Southeast region.
• Identify statewide policy priorities and coordinate advocacy efforts.
• Train chapter volunteers in direct action organizing techniques.
• Represent Surfrider Foundation at public events and hearings.
• Assist in implementing various Surfrider Foundation programs.
• Facilitate chapter governance and oversight.
• Develop and facilitate training conferences for the Southeast Chapter Network.
• Foster collaboration between regional Surfrider Student Clubs and Chapters.
• Maintain the Southeast regional Surfrider Foundation website and newsletters.
• Manage operational responsibilities including content development and social media outreach.

Requirements

• 4+ years experience in grassroots organizing and community outreach.
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Administrative experience ensuring tasks are accomplished accurately.
• Familiarity with coastal and ocean environmental issues.
• Facilitation skills to create inclusive spaces.
• Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Public speaking experience in various situations.
• Ability to learn and use tech tools like Salesforce and Google Drive.
• Reside within or willing to relocate to the Southeast region.
• Ability to travel extensively within the region.
