Director of Engineering - LegalTech - Remote

Overview

The Director of Engineering will be the senior operational leader responsible for building, managing, and scaling the engineering capability within a LegalTech company. This role requires a strong background in modern backend architecture and cloud deployments, along with proven leadership skills.

In Short

• Build and manage a high-performing engineering organization.
• Lead day-to-day operations of internal engineers and external teams.
• Establish core engineering processes and coding standards.
• Ensure collaboration with Product, Operations, and Support Teams.
• Own and manage all stages of the delivery cycle.
• Oversee the stability and security of core platforms.
• Manage SLA compliance for bugs and support issues.
• Work with the CAIO on strategic technical direction.
• Supervise API and RPA integrations with external systems.
• Ensure third-party work meets quality and security standards.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong background in backend architecture (Node.js, Python, microservices).
• Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Next.js) and APIs.
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and integrations.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD and cloud infrastructure.
