Director of Engineering - Remote

Overview

The Director of Engineering plays an integral role in leading the Business Wire Engineering group including multiple development teams, QA, Release Engineering as well as engineering project management.

In Short

• Lead Engineering’s direction and execution, ensuring high standards of code quality.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders and leadership to design projects.
• Oversee project execution and ensure on-time deliverables.
• Contribute to architecture and technical direction discussions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
• Ensure effective communication between Engineering, IT, Product, and other areas.
• Identify and remove roadblocks to maximize team effectiveness.
• Develop and oversee solutions for resource and knowledge gaps.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development focused on SaaS.
• Experience in distributed microservice architecture and GitOps frameworks.
• 7+ years managing software engineering teams.
• Proven experience overseeing complex enterprise software projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Up-to-date with current technologies, especially AWS and modern programming languages.
• Proven experience leading development, QA, and project management functions.
• Proactive in identifying problems and developing solutions.
• Effective in planning engineering projects with ambitious timelines.
