Overview

The Support Engineer - Level 2 role at Smile Digital Health involves maintaining and developing software components for a leading health data platform, ensuring effective delivery and interoperability of healthcare data.

In Short

  • Maintain and develop core software components of the Smile Digital Health product.
  • Work closely with various teams to gather product requirements.
  • Provide Tier 2 issue support, including after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Analyze requirements and propose technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with support and development teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Mentor Tier 1 Service Desk staff and junior developers.
  • Participate in major incident response teams.
  • Ensure documentation is up-to-date.
  • Research new technologies for existing modules.
  • Advise on good technical design and industry trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Post-secondary education in computer science or related field.
  • Experience with software application development and testing practices.
  • Knowledge of HL7 (V2, FHIR) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Hibernate, Spring, REST web services, and Git.
  • Experience with databases like Postgres.
